NPT Porcupine Mountain State Park, MI., Winter Cabin Camping, Skiing and Snowshoeing Adventure

Monday, February  16th- Thursday February 19th

This year we’ll be at the Gitche Gumee Cabin on Monday Feb. 16th through Thursday Feb. 19th. (An easy 100 yard walk in from the car). Snowshoeing is great just outside the cabin door. We’ll ski or drive a mile up the road to the ski trails & beautiful views. We plan to meet & car pool or caravan, leaving Rhinelander at 9:00 a.m. Monday morning.   Everyone, bring your own fork & spoon, lunches and drinks. As your share of the food costs we each plan, prepare & clean-up for 1 meal either breakfast or supper. Or bring paper products (plates, towels & TP)  Cost for the cabin is $326.00 for the 3 nights. The cost is split up between those who come.  Some experience in snow shoeing & / or skiing is recommended. Trails range from easy to difficult. We always ski or snowshoe with at least 2 people. Cell phone coverage is poor. We have evening fun with games and conversation in the warm cabin. There is a wood stove for heat & cooking (wood is provided). Meals are cooked over a camp stove or the fire. The cabin is equipped with 8 single bunks & mattresses. The outhouse is a short walk from the cabin.  Hope you can join us – Marj & Dan
