Now that the extreme arctic cold is over there is no reason we shouldn’t get outside and do some cross country skiing. Our first organized ski will take us to one of the more popular Northern-Highland-American Legion State Forests state ski trails. This will be a classic ski for about 2.9 miles on gentle terrain with very few steep hills. If you haven’t been on skis for awhile, this is the ski trail you want to be on. I was on the trail several days ago and it was well groomed and maintained. A daily state trail pass is required. Hope you can join us on this fun ski event. – J
Directions from Rhinelander: (14 min, 12 miles) From the intersection of Hwy K and Hwy 47 travel north toward Lake Tomahawk. Turn left onto Killdeer Road with the trailhead less than 1/4 mile on your left. northernpaddleandtrail.org A donation of $5.00 per event is requested for non-NPT members which can be paid at the event.
