Sunday, July 12, 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm Northern Paddle & Trail 2nd Annual Ice Cream Ride 2026 Meet at the Hiawatha Trail trailhead at SARA Park, 900 W. Somo Ave., Tomahawk, WI
Join us for a fun summer bicycle adventure on , as we ride one of northern Wisconsin’s beautiful trails in search of one of life’s simple pleasures—ice cream!
We’ll meet at the trailhead for the Hiawatha/Bearskin Rails-to-Trails trail system at Sara Park in Tomahawk. We’ll depart at 2:00 p.m. for a leisurely ride along the trail to the popular Windmill Ice Cream Shop. This wonderful trail is mostly shaded by trees, highly scenic, and surfaced with crushed granite that provides a nice ride.
Along the route we’ll cross Highway 8 and a few local roads, but otherwise we’ll enjoy a mostly traffic-free experience. The distance is approximately 7 miles each way, making for a round-trip ride of about 14 miles.
We’ll take our time enjoying the scenery, visit the Windmill for ice cream, enjoy conversation, a little relaxation, and then return to Sara Park. This is a relaxed, fairly flat, social ride suitable for anyone comfortable riding the distance on a bicycle.

Departure: 2:00 p.m. (Please arrive by 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. departure time)

Distance: Approximately 14 miles round trip
Expected Return: Between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
Cash: Windmill Ice Cream Shop accepts cash only
Bring your bicycle and water bottle. Helmets are encouraged. Friends are welcome!
After the ride, some participants may gather for dinner in the Tomahawk area. If you’re interested, please consider joining us for more fellowship and fun.
A donation of $5.00 per event is requested for non-NPT members which can be paid at the event. Membership for NPT is $10.00/year. To become a NPT member go to northernpaddleandtrail.org and click in the upper righthand corner and find membership.
