When we know who is going we can plan meeting & carpooling options.
We will be hiking in on the Beaver Creek Trail and heading down into a river basin, the terrain is mostly a gentle, gradual descent. Crossing the bridge to intersect with the Little Carp River Trail. This trail follows the river all the way to Mirror Lake.
We will be staying overnight in this historic 1945 park built cabin on the shores of Mirror Lake. There is a row boat supplied at the cabin for on lake exploring. The outdoor fire pit and picnic table make for good easy cooking and outdoor socializing.
The cabin has a wood stove to take the night chill out of the air. So a light sleeping bag or blanket is all that is needed. Keep your pack very light.
We’ll be eating 1 supper & 1 breakfast at the cabin. Bring your own supper to cook over the fire (foil dinner or hot dogs are suggestions & a grab and go breakfast). Marj & Dan will bring a camp water filter to refill everyone’s water bottles. There is no need to bring extra water into the cabin.
Possible Side trips: Bond Falls on the way up & Presque Isle Falls on the way home.
