Northern Paddle and Trail

Wednesday, June 10th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Paddle the North Branch of the Pelican River, meet at the put-in at the dam. Most of us are familiar with the Pelican River that flows through Rhinelander and many of us have paddled it.  Only a few of us have experienced the north branch.  It creates the Moens Chain of Lakes east of Rhinelander and flows into the Pelican River.  Where we will start (put-in) is just below the dam on Fifth Lake.  There is a mixture of wetlands that we will paddle through with possible animal sightings of swans, eagles, mallards, turtles,…

Paddle Julia Creek in the Three Lakes area,  Meet at the Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce, 1704 Superior St., Three Lakes, WI.   Caravan will leave the Chamber at 10:00 am to the put-in. on Julia Lake Larry Zibell, who is hosting this event, has an interest in the geological and human history of this area around his home on Virgin Lake.  He knows the area well and would like to share it with you.
